How should I prepare for my spray tan?

  • Have all beauty treatments (facials, waxing, nails, hair, etc…) done 48 hours prior to the appointment

  • Complete any exfoliation and shaving 24 hours before the appointment

  • Arrive without any lotions, oils, or deodorant

  • Avoid a hot shower immediately before the appointment

  • Wear dark, loose-fitting clothing

What do I need for a mobile tan?

The only thing that you need to provide is a space of about 6×6ft and access to an electrical outlet inside a temperature-controlled space. I will bring all of the supplies, including a pop-up tent, and we will leave no mess behind. 

How long does a spray tan last?

With proper aftercare, you’ll keep your tan for an average of 7-10 days. Make sure that you rinse at the time you were instructed and use spray tan-safe products to have a smooth, even fade. Gloss Hydrating Setting Spray is available as an add-on to any service, which assists with the longevity of your tan. 

What exactly is a spray tan?

Spray tanning is a method of achieving a sun-kissed look without the harmful effects of UV rays. Spray tanning involves applying a solution of dihydroxyacetone (DHA) to the skin, which creates a temporary tan.

DHA is approved by the FDA for topical use. Disposable thongs, nose plugs, and pasties (for breastfeeding mamas) are always offered at 702 Spray Tans.

Is spray tanning safe for tattoos?

Spray tanning is a great option for people with tattoos! Minimizing UV exposure is important for everyone, but especially if you've invested in your artwork. UV exposure is known to break down tattoo ink particles in the dermis layer, causing colors to fade, lines to blur, and black ink to turn a muddy blue or gray. Opt for a sunless tan instead!

How soon before an event should I tan?

DHA takes up to 24 hours to fully develop. It is recommended to tan 2-3 days before a big event to allow the color to fully develop and in the case that touch ups may be needed. For our brides, a trial tan is recommended 3-4 weeks before the wedding to make sure we can achieve the ideal glow on your big day.
